PERSON WITH DISABILITIES IN BRAZILIAN DEMOCRACY
Abstract
The person with disability is the theme of this article. The objective is to demonstrate how person with disability was treated throughout Brazilian history and how their insertion in the social conjuncture was possible through popular participation and public argumentation, which generated declarations and rights resulting from the public argumentative clash. It presents as a discussion that this public participation was fundamental for the establishment and recognition of person with disability as a person with rights and the right to have rights, a fact that was only possible through democracy. This democracy presents a characteristic of diversity of people, opinions and truths that must be protected by a legal system established since its constitution. This document will determine the parameters for the conception of social justice and how citizens can participate in public life. When not possible, social unrest gains a fundamental prominence. Using the deductive method, through a literature review, it is assumed that democracy has effectively contributed to the social inclusion of people with disabilities. Still, it converged to the feeling of equality between people without the historical division of different bodies, although the concept of disability is still in constant transformation.
