Abstract

ABSTRACT This study is based on an investigation whose main objective is to explore the interconnections between (auto)biographical research, life stories and life projects, especially in the light of the legislation that guides the work of teachers in the implementation of the New High School. The research approach is qualitative, anchored in the principles of (auto)biographical research and supported by recognized authors in the field, such as Delory-Momberger (2006, 2012), Josso (2007, 2010) and Passeggi (2010, 2011, 2020). These theorists offer a solid basis for understanding how the individual is formed through lived experiences and shared narratives, providing a rich context for analyzing the professional trajectories of educators. The research was carried out in two stages. In the first, an exploratory questionnaire was used to identify the teachers who would take part in the narrative interviews. We selected three high school teachers from schools in the east of São Paulo, in order to capture a diversity of experiences and perspectives. The choice of this location is relevant because it reflects a specific socio-economic context that can influence teaching practice and teacher training. In the second stage, narrative interviews were conducted, in which the educators' life stories were analyzed. This method allowed for a deep dive into the personal and professional experiences of the participants, offering insights into how their trajectories influence teaching practice and life projects. By analyzing the narratives, we sought to outline possible results and implications of the study, contributing to a broader understanding of the role of the teacher in the context of the New High School. This work not only sheds light on individual stories, but also proposes reflections on teacher training and its intersections with contemporary educational policies. Keywords: new high school. life project. (auto)biographical research.
