UNIVERSITY EXTENSION PROJECT: PEDAGOGICAL PRACTICES FOR SCIENCE TEACHING AND ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION

Abstract

The university extension project was born from the notice of CAPES – Novos Talentos Program. The proposal was to bring together teachers from two different schools in the State Education Network to reflect on the methodologies used in teaching science aimed at environmental education. The project was developed with six teachers from the areas of science, Portuguese and geography from the early years of elementary school in the municipality of Aquidauana – Mato Grosso do Sul. The teachers were responsible for selecting students to participate in the project. Sixth and seventh grade students were chosen because the content is related to environmental issues. Theoretical classes, workshops, laboratory classes, field classes and technical visits were developed that contributed to dynamic and interactive teaching. The purpose of this article is to report the experiences and pedagogical practices developed by the teachers in the development of the project.
