LITERACY LITERACY: extensionist actions with children from Municipal Schools of Aquidauana/MS

Abstract

This text emerges from an excerpt from the Extension Project: ALFABETIZAR LETRAND: discovering and recognizing writing and its languages at UFMS/CPAQ, which illustrates the importance of literacy and literacy for mastering reading and writing. It also registers that literacy through literacy is fundamental for the individual's participation in society, as it implies that human beings communicate, have access to information and produce their knowledge. In this way, thinking about managing an Extension Project with the possibility of providing knowledge to children is, above all, introducing skills and competences to Pedagogy students in this process. Namely, literacy is the learning process in which the ability to read and write is developed. It is a skill of individual use, making it possible to encode and decode writing and numbers. Literacy is a process that involves the competent use of reading and writing in social practices. Therefore, with the Project, it was possible to affirm that the children, social subjects of the extensionist actions, when faced with the presented scenario, are protagonists, investigate, create and, above all, interact, with meaning, providing space to express their knowledge. and broadening their views to different learning contexts, as well as the cognitive, social and emotional, in addition to encouraging exploration, discoveries and experimentation. ttexttext.
