PROFISSIONAL EM COORDENAÇÃO PEDAGÓGICA: REFLEXÕES SOBRE O PRESCRITO E O OBSERVADO NO AMBIENTE ESCOLAR

Abstract

School management in Brazil stands out in contemporary academic research by highlighting the professional identities that permeate the school environment and, more specifically, can contribute to comprehensive education guided by the principles of democratic management. Departing from this perspective and identifying the pedagogical coordinator as one of these identities, the research presented in the form of an article aimed to reflect on the profile and role of the pedagogical coordinator (PC) in the educational context, considering the numerous demands these professional faces in their work environment. Problematizing how the PC perceives themselves and the functions they perform in relation to those prescribed for the profession led to the development of a questionnaire, based on a documentary literature review on the topic, to assess the profile of the active pedagogical coordinators in the municipality of Dourados - MS. In this endeavor, the contributions of Lima (2007), Souza (2009), Placco and Almeida (2010), Aguiar (2011), Franco, and Nogueira (2016), among others, were essential. The data revealed that although pedagogical coordinators consider the formative dimension for teachers to be important, they have little time to carry it out, as their daily activities are primarily related to attending to parents, students, and teachers, in addition to administrative matters and student discipline. The results indicate that coordinators are burdened with excessive administrative work, leading to deviations in the execution of their role and overshadowing their pedagogical work.
