Abstract

This article explores the collaboration between family and school in early childhood education, emphasizing the importance of this partnership in enhancing children's learning and integral development. It questions the limited view that the school is solely responsible for education, encouraging a review of the literature on cooperation between these institutions. The main objective is to analyze the literature to optimize children's learning and development. Specific objectives include the historical systematization of the concept of "family" and the description of family participation at different times. The qualitative approach focuses on understanding educational phenomena, using a literature review and content analysis. The study highlights the need to demystify the idea that the school is solely responsible for education, highlighting the importance of active family participation. The interdependence between school and family is crucial in the educational process, requiring mutual recognition and appreciation. The main results point to the importance of strategies to optimize children's learning and all-round development and the joint planning between school and family in children's education, highlighting the need for mutual recognition. It concludes by affirming the need to recognize shared responsibilities and overcome challenges arising from family transformations and social inequalities; it emphasizes the relevance of inclusive education that is sensitive to family diversity, proposing the implementation of practices such as support networks and the strengthening of bodies. The conclusion reiterates that such strategies are fundamental to children's educational success, highlighting the value of their childhood experiences.
