Abstract

This article presents the results of a pedagogical practice that identified theorems in action, mobilized by children in Early Childhood Education in the development of a Mathematical Modeling activity, which elucidated the achievement of objectives related to the experience fields oriented by the Base Nacional Comum Curricular. Data was recorded through audio and video recordings and drawings made by the children. These data were analyzed according to the theoretical assumptions of the Conceptual Fields Theory, resulting in the identification of theorems in action mobilized by the children, the understanding of the concepts involved in the tasks, as well as the experience fields and learning objectives indicated for the teaching level, which were contemplated during its development. In this context, Mathematical Modeling is configured as a methodology that favors the cognitive development of learning mathematics and the development of the experience fields and learning objectives typical of this level of education.
