A FUNÇÃO SOCIAL DA EDUCAÇÃO ESCOLAR A PARTIR DO DIREITO EDUCACIONAL

Abstract

This article comes from the doctoral thesis that is in progress through the Postgraduate Program in Education at UFMS, Campo Grande, MS. It assumes that school is the dominant and main form of education, it exists to enable the transmission/assimilation of instruments and socialization to elaborate, systematized and erudite knowledge, in other words, classical knowledge. In this sense, the objective of these writings is to understand that school education has a specific function, and we intend to approach this function from Educational Law and Geographical Science, considering Historical-Critical Pedagogy as Educational Theory. We will thus see that analyzing the social function of school education based on educational law considering the contributions of pedagogy and geography is of utmost importance for the development of humanization of man.
