Abstract
In this article an update of the discussions and contradictions of the New High School, in the restructuring stage, is proposed. To do this, we resorted to the first critical theses with a technical and political bias of the Law [13,415/2017], as well as currents and countercurrents of neoliberal reforms operating in the educational field. In deepening the discussions, authors were also analyzed who discuss the basic categories of criticism of the New High School from a class perspective, such as ideology, State, curriculum, management, participation and precariousness. It was realized that, in three different administrations at the federal level, the forces that worked in favor of the Law and against it were the same, with in this last administration no initiative by the public authorities to take a turn towards contingency of anti-popular advances in school management. public school, with popular movements defending public schools intensifying their organization and struggle.
