Academic Performance in Higher Education: Face to Face Versus Remote
Abstract
This study analyzes the impact of Emergency Remote Teaching at the Federal University of Pampa (UNIPAMPA), comparing four in-person semesters with the first four remote semesters during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research utilized 33,871 academic records and 1,073 survey responses to correlate student performance and perceptions. The results indicate an improvement in academic performance during remote teaching, highlighting schedule flexibility and access to online resources as positive factors. However, areas requiring practical activities showed a decline in performance. The integrated analysis underscores the importance of considering both objective data and student perceptions to understand the impacts of remote teaching, offering valuable insights for future educational strategies.
