A CHILDREN'S LITERATURE AS A TEACHING RESOURCE IN GEOGRAPHY TEACHING IN THE EARLY YEARS
Abstract
This paper is a report of work developed in a Pedagogy class at the State University of Rio Grande do Norte. It aims to demonstrate that literature can be an important resource in the teaching of Geography. Methodologically, the choice of work, analysis and culmination were developed. The theoretical framework was constituted by authors from the field of geography and literature. The results indicate that this resource makes it possible to work with concepts such as landscape, territory, place and region, among others. It was concluded that literature helps overcoming the mnemonic tradition in Geography, it can integrate other areas of knowledge and contribute to better quality teaching and education.
