Abstract

This paper aims to present legal and institutional aspects of migrant practices of refugees in Brazil in contemporary times. In the first part, the main elements of Law 9474/1997 and Law 13445/2017 are exposed, searching to clarify the legislative panorama regarding the rights of refugees in Brazil. In the second part, we search to present the measures for the reception of refugees in Brazil, with emphasis on the refugee application process. Finally, we search to contribute with an approach on actions, measures and institutions for greater inclusion of refugees in the country, understanding the importance of the participation of civil society, through non-governmental organizations, business societies and religious institutions to guarantee the realization of rights and the construction of a more inclusive and welcoming society for refugees in Brazil.
