Abstract

At the invitation of the editors of albuquerque: journal of history Linn da Quebrada composed an essay on body and gender. In this work, Linn in a poetic turn captures questions about cisgenerity and activism centered on criticism of binarity.

Author Biography

  • Linn da Quebrada

    Brazilian singer, who is also an actress, screenwriter and television host, toured Brazil - and part of the world - with her powerful and dancing shows. A doctor and a monster of herself, the artist investigates her own corporeality and narrative powers, based on performances now inspired by her repertoire. Linn da Quebrada has stood out on the Brazilian electronic and experimental music scene from an indecipherable musical mix. Made of pop, funk, global ghetto and more, this sound experimentation has also boosted its presence in other countries. Website: https://www.linndaquebrada.com/
