Guidelines for Authors

We thank you for choosing our journal for the submission of your article. Compliance with these guidelines is essential to ensure the proper processing of the manuscript through the stages of peer review, editing, production and publication. Authors are therefore requested to read these instructions carefully and observe them accordingly.

The evaluation is carried out by ad hoc reviewers, considering the scientific and social relevance of the topic, theoretical and methodological consistency, quality of argumentation, textual coherence and compliance with the journal’s editorial standards. The editorial team conducts an initial screening of manuscripts regarding their suitability to the journal’s scope, guidelines and formal requirements.

Submission Conditions and Editorial Ethics

Submission implies that the manuscript is original, unpublished and not under simultaneous review by another journal. The journal adopts principles of scientific integrity based on the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), including plagiarism prevention, responsible authorship, transparency of contributions and management of conflicts of interest.

All authors must have an ORCID record. Metadata must be completed in the Open Journal Systems (OJS), including institutional affiliation and contact information. The journal adopts a transparent authorship policy: the order of authors is defined at the time of submission and must reflect the declared contribution.

Language and Internationalisation

The journal accepts articles in Portuguese, English or Spanish. In the case of articles published in Portuguese or Spanish, publication in a bilingual version is recommended. Authors are responsible for translation and revision of the text, including a translator’s declaration of responsibility for articles that do not have a native author in the language of publication.

Manuscript Formatting and Structure

The manuscript must be between 6,000 and 8,000 words in length, including references, tables and figures. The title must contain up to 22 words. The abstract must contain up to 250 words and be presented in Portuguese, English and Spanish. Keywords must range from 3 to 5 and be presented in the same languages as the abstract.

The file must be submitted in Word format (.doc or .docx), on A4 paper, using Arial font, size 12, 1.5 line spacing, 2.5 cm margins and page numbering in the lower right corner. All metadata, such as title, abstract and keywords, must be presented in Portuguese, English and Spanish. Funding information must be provided in a footnote.

Anonymity and Blind Review

To ensure blind review, the manuscript must not contain any authorship identification. Authorial references must be replaced by markings such as “XXX” when necessary and restored after manuscript approval.

Citation and Reference Standards

References must follow current ABNT standards, with authors’ names written in full. In-text citations must follow the author-date system, as in the example: Surname, year.

Footnotes must be used only for essential clarifications, and bibliographic references in this format are not permitted.

Figures, Tables and Graphic Elements

Figures and tables must be inserted in the body of the text, with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi. They must include a title at the top and the source at the bottom. Explanatory texts must be concise.

Submission Policy and Publication Frequency

Each author may submit and publish only one manuscript per year. The number of authors per article shall be defined by the authors themselves at the time of submission. In cases of more than 3 authors, each author’s participation must be justified. Authors must detail the individual contributions of each author.
