Peer Review Process

Articles submitted for possible publication in the journal will undergo a preliminary analysis (initial screening) before being forwarded for review. Submissions that do not comply with the editorial guidelines will be returned to the authors for adjustment.

The review process follows a double-blind peer review system, conducted by ad hoc reviewers and members of the Scientific Editorial Board. In the event of discrepancy or disagreement between reviews, a third reviewer will be consulted. The texts published express opinions, results, and assumptions that are the sole responsibility of their authors.

Reviewers who are members of the Scientific Editorial Board, as well as the ad hoc reviewers consulted, shall preferably hold a doctoral degree and be affiliated with different scientific institutions. At least one of the peer reviewers assigned to evaluate each manuscript shall hold a doctoral degree.

The names of the authors, reviewers, and their respective institutions shall remain confidential throughout the entire review process.

Revista Edutec will publish annually, in the corresponding issue, the names of the members of the Scientific Editorial Board and the ad hoc reviewers.

The aspects guiding the evaluation of manuscripts submitted for peer review include: theoretical and/or empirical content, command of the scientific literature, relevance of the topic, contribution to the specific field of knowledge, originality of the approach, text structure, and quality of writing. Reviewers may recommend full acceptance of the text, suggest modifications for a new evaluation, or indicate rejection of the manuscript.

The final editorial decision in the review process is made by the editors of the Executive Board, always guided by the reviewers’ recommendations and supported by the calculation of the Parameters for the Editorial Decision.

2025-Current: Edutec - Education, Digital Technologies and Teacher Education adopts the Continuous Publication System (rolling pass) exclusively online, with the publication of up to two annual editions, each with up to 15 articles. Except in cases where identification is allowed, anonymity must be guaranteed to the research participants and, if necessary, to the institutions; authorization or restriction on the identification must be informed in a note in the article's body. The same principle applies to the dissemination of images of people and institutions.

Compliance with these requirements and conditions will be carefully checked with Edutec's plagiarism verification software tools, like Turnitin. If nonconformities are identified, the manuscript will be refused publication by the journal.

Conflicts of Interest
If the research developed or the publication of the work may raise doubts about possible conflicts of interest, the authors must declare in a final note that no links to funding agencies, as well as to commercial or political institutions, have been omitted. Whenever necessary, the authors can mention the liaison institution and other institutions that have collaborated in the study's execution, showing no conflicts of interest with the results presented.
