Peer Review Process
“Perspectivas em Diálogo: Revista de Educação e Sociedade” adopts a double-blind peer review system. Reviewers do not know the names or affiliations of the authors, and the review results are sent to the authors without identifying the individuals who conducted the evaluation.
In this process, submitted manuscripts are sent to two national or international ad hoc reviewers who hold doctoral degrees and have scientific publications in the relevant field of evaluation. Throughout the communication process within the Electronic Journal System, the authors’ names remain confidential in order to preserve their anonymity.
The guidelines for evaluating original manuscripts submitted for peer review cover the following aspects: formal standards of writing and academic language; clarity and fluency of the text; theoretical and methodological soundness, with consistency between the theoretical perspective adopted, the objectives, methodology, interpretations, analyses, results and final considerations; and verification that all works cited in the text are included in the reference list.
At the end of the evaluation process, the review consists of a brief text containing comments on the submission, which is recorded in the system. The final review must indicate one of the following recommendations: a) Accept; b) Revisions Required; c) Resubmit for Review; d) Submit Elsewhere; e) Reject; f) See Comments. If the reviews are divergent, the same article will be sent to a third ad hoc reviewer.
The estimated publication time for manuscripts following submission is approximately six months.
