REFLECTIONS ON THE IDENTITY OF TEACHERS WHO WORK IN EAD
Abstract
Distance Education (DE) in Brazil has been around for some time, which makes us think about the construction of the identity of teachers who work in this teaching modality. The teaching work is sometimes understood only by its technical dimension, leaving aside its human condition. Discussing the teacher's action at school only for its instrumental character is to abandon and disregard the importance of their personal and professional identity in the educational process. The objective of this text is to reflect and point out propositions for teacher training and its identity that work in the modality. Studies on the teaching profession and identity are based on Carrolo (1997); Tardif and Lessard (2011); Castells (2010); Pepper (1999); Giddens (2004);Tardif (2002); Meksenas (2003); Dubar (2002, 2005, 2009); Abbud and Bussmann (2002); Brzezinski (2002); Novoa (1997); Lawn (2001); Garcia, Hypolito and Vieira (2005). In distance education, on the other hand, the variety of roles, the devaluation of work according to its execution bring an identity crisis, leaving it more fragile. The results also point out that there is a need for a proposal for an identity policy for teachers who work in distance education. A positive aspect that can contribute to their identity in the teaching-learning process is the permanent search for a dialogic process that promotes action and reflection among DE actors.
