Entre o eu e o nós: da dimensão social do conhecimento aos fundamentos sociológicos na perspectiva da epistemologia genética

Abstract

This theoretical essay analyzes the social dimension of knowledge and its sociological foundations from the perspective of Genetic epistemology. It highlights the role of social interactions in the construction of knowledge. First, it discusses the notion of social knowledge in Jean Piaget's (1896–1980) work. Then, it examines the sociological contributions in his theory. Finally, it analyzes the role of interactions in the genesis of cognitive, affective, and moral structures. Based on Piaget's articulation of the relationship between biology, psychology, and sociology, the text examines how the subject is progressively constituted through asymmetrical relationships with others and symmetrical interactions with peers. It challenges interpretations attributing an individualistic bias to Piaget's work, arguing he developed a sociological and experimental approach in which the social is understood as an interdependent and constitutive dimension of intellectual activity. In this context, the essay discusses the modalities of adult-child and child-child interactions and their implications for the development of cooperation, decentration, and moral autonomy. The text concludes that the social dimension occupies a structuring position in Piagetian theory, indicating that human knowledge results from the dynamic process of coordinating perspectives and collectively constructing rules and meanings.
