Narratives of possible dreams
Remote learning in the pandemic from a freireian perspective
Abstract
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, without enough time to prepare, students and teachers left the classroom to experience a remote learning experience. In order to understand how this teaching-learning process has occurred, 26 students aged 17 and 18 years old, currently enrolled in the third year of high school in a public school, were interviewed. With this case study, it is intended to present the challenges faced by the participants in this teaching modality in face of the social isolation and the use of New Technologies of Information and Communication (NTICs), which have become indispensable instruments nowadays. To generate the data, the instrument “Questionnaire” was used, as it gives the participant the opportunity to explore their subjectivity in their answers, and it is up to them to decide what and how to answer it. In turn, to carry out the data analysis, we resorted to Freirian works as theoretical support. It is believed that Paulo Freire's studies dialogue like this because the author defends a pedagogy that embraces the oppressed, encourages autonomy and offers hope to those who are often silenced by intolerance to diversity and alienation. It is expected that this study will be a means of reflection on the act of teaching, considering that teaching requires several internal and external factors, such as: respect for the knowledge of students, rejection of any form of discrimination, availability for dialogue and, above all, the conviction that change is possible.
