Perspectivas em Diálogo adopts new editorial guidelines from volume 13, issue 35 onward
The journal Perspectivas em Diálogo: Revista de Educação e Sociedade will adopt, from volume 13, issue 35 onward, new editorial guidelines aimed at improving its publication processes, expanding transparency, and aligning the journal with contemporary best practices in scholarly communication.
Among the implemented changes, the adoption of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence (CC BY 4.0) stands out. This licence allows the sharing and adaptation of published articles, including for commercial purposes, provided that proper credit is given to the authors. This change strengthens the journal’s commitment to open access, the circulation of scientific knowledge, and the expansion of possibilities for reusing published content.
The journal, which already adopts the continuous publication model, will now use the eLocation ID as the standard for identifying and paginating published articles. This electronic identifier replaces traditional sequential pagination and aligns with the editorial practices adopted by digital scholarly journals that operate under a continuous publication workflow.
The use of the eLocation ID enables the individual identification of each article published within its corresponding volume and issue, supporting the standardisation of citations, the organisation of content, and interoperability with databases and scientific indexing systems.
The journal will also request the inclusion of the ROR code in the authors’ institutional affiliation information. ROR, which stands for Research Organization Registry, is a persistent identifier used to recognise research organisations in a standardised manner, contributing to the improvement of metadata quality, interoperability between systems, and the accurate identification of institutions linked to scientific publications.
If any of the authors’ or contributors’ affiliated institutions are not yet registered in the ROR system, researchers are encouraged to request that their institution complete the registration process, thereby contributing to the standardisation of institutional information and the accurate identification of organisations associated with scientific publications.
These changes are part of a set of editorial update actions undertaken by Perspectivas em Diálogo: Revista de Educação e Sociedade, with the aim of strengthening the quality of recorded information, increasing the visibility of published articles, and following recommended practices for open access scholarly journals.
